Are you having trouble building that bond with the listeners? It is all about finding your radio voice. Or you might even be recruited new to the radio station and you just want to rock it. Whatever the reason it maybe here are some exclusive tips on finding that voice and becoming a great radio presenter.

  • First of all, you need to know your audience. Who are the listeners? Are you doing the morning show? The time where people are going to their workplace and kids going to school. Or is it during the afternoon, where you have mostly housewives or shops and etc. recognize your crowd and try creating moments that are common to the listeners.

  • I’m sure you may have been a radio listener before you became a presenter, and you may have noticed how the radio gives you a feeling of its talking to you. So when you are presenting, talk as if you are talking to just one person, not an entire group of people. If you use more of “you and I” talk, the more likely you’re listeners build there bond with your show.

  • Remember that you are in charge of your show. Keep it energetic, meaning your voice should be powerful and active to have your listeners feel active as well. While you are energetic, you also need to keep calm while you guide you listeners through your show. no one will complain to you, if you played another song or talked more,

  • You also need to learn how to handle the microphone. See how the mic and how your listeners hear you and keep the right distance from it while speaking. You never want to be too loud on the radio nor do you want your listeners sound small.

  • Also, make sure that you are not copying someone else’s tone or there way of speaking. Be yourself, I know that this is to many people something pretty scary. But you have been chosen because they saw the potential with in you. So without being someone you are not, practice and train to be someone more unique.

  • Another thing you may want to try is make the listener care. You talk about almost anything on radio, all you need to do is talk about it in a way that you care. No one else, as long as you care, say it you will notice that your listeners will join in the conversation as well.

Well, that’s about all the tips that I could give you. Good luck!
